How does MCR work
MCR is based on the principle of DC magnetization, using the additional DC excitation magnetization reactor core, by adjusting the magnetic saturation degree of the core of MCR, changing the permeability of the core, to achieve the continuous adjustable reactance value. The shunt magnetic circuit is composed of the core in the unsaturated region and the core in the saturated region arranged alternately on the core of the reactor; the excitation magnetization of the core by the additional DC excitation current is controlled by adjusting the thyristor triggering conduction angle; the magnetization degree and the saturation region of the core in the unsaturated region and the saturation region are changed by adjusting the area or the magnetic resistance of the core in the unsaturated region and the saturation region in the shunt magnetic circuit The magnetic saturation degree of the core can realize the continuous and fast adjustment of reactance value from 1% to 100%. Combined with capacitor, it can provide positive and negative continuously adjustable reactive power, so it can control system voltage and reactive power more accurately and more quickly. Because there is no or very little impact and inrush caused by capacitor switching, the reliability and service life of the device can be greatly improved. It can compensate three phases separately, especially in the case of three-phase power imbalance.
